If you sign up for traffic school and fail to file the traffic school completion certificate by your traffic school due date, the traffic school administrative fee (election fee) you paid will be deemed as bail and forfeited, and DHSMV will be notified of the traffic conviction.
The Point System
All moving violations have points attached to them. Most are three (3) to six (6) point violations (speeding, illegal turn, stop sign, etc). An excessive number of points on your official Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) Driver Record will result in your driver's license being suspended or revoked.
You will lose your driver's license if your DHSMV driving record shows:
12 points in a 12-month period (30 day suspension)
18 points in a 18-month period (3 month suspension)
24 points in a 36-month period (12 month suspension)

Are You Eligible?

Traffic Collision Avoidance Course:
If you were a driver in a crash and are found at fault and someone was transported to the hospital or you had two crashes in a two-year period, which resulted in property damage greater than $50, the state will require you to complete our Florida online traffic school basic driver improvement course.
